I'm a programmer who loves learning new things and figuring out how stuff works.
I actually started in physics, not computer science. Physics taught me how to poke at unfamiliar systems until they make sense—turns out that's pretty useful for programming too! At Meditech, I jumped into their custom language and the whole healthcare world. At edX, I built features for Harvard and MIT courses, improved tools for course authors, and made data pipelines run faster and cheaper.
I genuinely enjoy picking up new skills and tackling whatever comes next. Whether it's a new framework, a tricky performance problem, or diving into an unfamiliar domain, I'm always up for the challenge. Excited to see what's around the corner!
Tech Stack: React, Redux, ES6, Google Firebase
Do you play tabletop story based games like Dungeons and Dragons? Do you run into problems finding that tiny little fact about your world you wrote down 6 months ago? This web app is aimed at game masters like you. Quickly record information in draggable cards, then search it up quickly at a moment's notice.
2022 - 2025
Developed and deployed full-stack features for edX partners including Harvard and MIT, supporting tens of thousands of concurrent learners.
Led backend implementation of the Course Optimizer workstream and implemented major improvements to the core course-editing tools, greatly enhancing user experience for course authors.
Engineered a Python/Go-based GCP course ingestion pipeline projected to generate $500K ARR; optimized data processing speed by more than 75% and lowered course ingestion cost by 50%.
Owned observability and incident management for multiple core edX services, designing Datadog metrics and alerts that reduced incident response time during on-call rotations.
Contributed to the Security Working Group by triaging vulnerabilities and coordinating cross-team remediation efforts.
2020 - 2024
Web application for data organization geared towards storytelling hobbyists.
Built the foundational codebase for DM Kit using JavaScript, React, Redux, HTML, and CSS.
Developed drag-and-drop functionality with react-rnd to streamline organization workflows for users.
Implemented undo/redo capabilities using redux-undo, enabling users to easily revert changes.
Created a searchable library feature allowing users to quickly filter through project content.
Designed a Firebase database structure that loads projects with hundreds of objects in under 3 seconds.
Collaborated with a UX designer to improve accessibility and user experience.
I worked on this to build my understanding of React. Check out the app in my projects section!
2014 - 2019
Medical Information Technology (MEDITECH), Massachusetts
Supported data transmission between Meditech’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) and third-party systems across 50+ client hospital sites.
Engineered 20+ custom HL7 and CCD features monthly, adapting integrations to diverse hospital workflows and regulatory requirements.
Developed and deployed 100+ production code fixes annually to stable version releases, ensuring system reliability.
Led emergency response efforts to resolve patient data corruption in production environments, preventing major incidents and protecting critical patient information.
Modernized legacy EHR systems by architecting RESTful API infrastructure to meet federal “Promoting Interoperability” standards.
